IT Courses and Support

We offer a wide range of 5 and 10 weeks computer courses within a small, friendly, individual-focused, learning environment. Courses are usually two hours per week, topics range from PC Basics which is a beginners' course to advanced levels of MS Office Applications.

What computer courses do we offer?

Courses for Beginners

PC Basics -A gentle introduction to computers, specifically the word programme, designed to overcome the fear of technology.

Duration: 5 weeks

Internet 1 - A beginner's course to teach how to connect to the internet, use search engines and manage e-mail accounts

Duration: 5 weeks

One Step Further- A taste of word processing, file management and basic use of Internet. This is a basic level course for learners who are confident in using the mouse and keyboard.

Intermediate Courses

Word1 - A follow on course from either PC Basics or One Step Further, this course is also suitable for learners with basic mouse and keyboard skills; teaches word processing at a level above CLAIT (word processing module)

Excel 1 - A follow on course from either PC Basics or One Step Further, this course is also suitable for learners with basic word processing skills; teaches spreadsheets at a level above CLAIT (spreadsheets module)

PowerPoint - A follow on course from either PC Basics or One Step Further, is also suitable for learners with basic word processing skills; teaches PowerPoint presentations to produce simple slide shows.

MS Publisher - A follow on course from either PC Basics or One Step Further, is also suitable for learners with basic word processing skills; teaches creating publications to produce flyers, calendars, leaflets.

MS Access (Database) - An intermediate level, follow-on course from Word1 and Excel/1, teaches creating and using database to store and search for information, create forms and reports.

ICT and Creative Computing - An intensive course is suitable for learners with some basic Word, Excel skills to use Windows7 to manage files and folders, use MS Word2007 and MS Excel 2007.
